The integration of technology in education enhances students’ engagement and comprehension, particularly in learning the history of chemistry. This study aimed to develop video-based learning media focusing on the contributions of Muslim scientists to chemistry. Utilizing the ADDIE Research and Development (R&D) model, limited to the implementation stage, this research involved 10 lecturers and 83 students from the Chemistry Education program across two cohorts (2022 and 2023). The study employed material validation instruments, media assessments, and lecturer and student response questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using the Guttman scale, descriptive interviews, and a 1-4 Likert scale. Findings indicate strong student interest in the developed learning media. Material validation resulted in a score of 89.77%, while expert assessments of six storyboards at the design stage yielded ratings of 90% to 94%. The evaluation of six videos at the development stage confirmed their high suitability, with scores ranging from 95.67% to 97.60%. Limited trials in the implementation phase produced very positive results, with lecturer and student response ratings of 98.33% and 92.50%, respectively. These findings demonstrate that video-based learning media effectively support chemistry education, offering a dynamic approach to understanding historical scientific contributions. This research highlights the potential for reviving the legacy of Muslim scientists in contemporary scientific discourse and education. © 2026 Author(s)
