Trawl is a fishing gear that is actively operated by being towed by a motorized boat. Trawl fishing gear has long been banned, but is still used in the Eastern Waters of Lampung Province, one of which is fishermen in Kuala Penet. The existence of government regulations for environmentally friendly use of marine resources encouraged this research to be carried out. The research objectives include the following: analyzing the technical aspects of trawl fishing gear in Margasari Village. The research was carried out in June 2023 in Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung by conducting direct interviews with fishermen. The Mini Trawl in Kuala Penet, Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency has a design and construction consisting of a net, otter board, towing rope, sweeping rope, top rope and bottom rope. Based on the provisions of Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Numbers Number.18 in 2021, mini trawls are technically not allowed to be operated. © 2026 Author(s).
