Research on virtual reality (VR) in education is gaining momentum worldwide. This field has been actively developed in recent decades from the perspective of research and the development of new technologies. A comprehensive literature review, meta-analysis, and bibliographic analysis are all part of the review on virtual reality in education. This analysis, however, needs to reflect a comprehensive evaluation of published studies in this field that explains the evolution over a long period. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis using article metadata covering 28 years (1994-2022). There is a total of 528 studies examined. In order to conduct the literature review, information such as metadata, authors, content, and citations was extracted from the dataset and analyzed with the R bibliometric package software programs and databases such as the Dimension. Educators can use the findings of this study to make decisions about incorporating virtual reality technologies into their classrooms. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
