The purpose of this research is to develop standardized test instruments to measure 21st century skills (4Cs) based on real laboratory for Indonesian eleventh grade high school students on the subject of temperature and heat transfer. The method used in this study is research and development (R&D) by adapting the ADDIE development model. The instruments used to consist of 16 items multiple choices measuring 21st century skills based on real laboratory both for temperature and heat transfer topic. The same instrument was tested on 3 experts and 63 eleventh grade students who attended school on the island of Java, consisting of 37 female students and 26 male students. The revised results will be processed to become stage 2 test instruments. We analyzed the feasibility of 21st century skills test instruments using an ANATES V4. We analyze its validity using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI). We found that the test of sub-material temperature and expansion has high reliability 0.60 and for the test of sub-material conduction heat transfer has enough reliability 0.49. There are some problems not validated are caused by several factors, such as students simply guessing the answers, not watching experimental videos first, not studying heat matter, etc. The implication of this study is that the problems with this proposed standardized test should be further improved. © 2023 Author(s).
