Abstract

In this study, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted on the application of ICT in teaching number concept in junior high schools from 1985 to 2024. The data were categorized according to the year of publication, publisher, author, topic studied, and variables developed through the application of ICT. At the identification stage, 51 primary studies were found based on the results of the literature search through the Scopus database. From the screening stage using the Mendeley application, followed by reading abstracts and research results, 20 articles were obtained that met the inclusion criteria, which were then further analyzed. The results showed that researches on the application of ICT in learning number materials in junior high school fluctuated between slowing down and increasing positively. The growth rate of articles reached its peak in 2017 and 2020. The results of the analysis show that the USA has a very significant publication growth followed by Indonesia and Turkey is the most productive article producing country in this field and some other countries interest in this field is also increasing such as in Spain, Finland and Mexico. The most productive journals in this field are the Journal of Physics Conference Series and AIP Conference Proceeding. The most prolific authors are Bouck EC and Park J, followed by Cwiakala K and Whorley A, all of whom are from the USA. Number topics that use ICT applications are fractions, arithmetic, ratio and proportion and social arithmetic. In relation to the variables developed, ICT is used in the learning process to develop educational computing and problem-solving skills for junior high school students. © 2026 American Institute of Physics Inc..
