The emergence of ChatGPT, a natural language-based artificial intelligence technology, has brought significant transformations to the educational landscape, particularly in mathematics learning. This study aims to systematically review recent literature on the impact of ChatGPT on mathematical thinking, pedagogical practices, and the challenges associated with its integration in mathematics education. Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA framework, 11 selected articles were thematically analyzed. The findings reveal that ChatGPT has the potential to enhance procedural understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and support autonomous and adaptive learning. Additionally, it contributes to enriching pedagogical practices through instant feedback, personalized content delivery, and increased student engagement. However, challenges such as the risk of overreliance, the potential decline in critical thinking skills, and limitations in information validity and visual interpretation have also been identified. Therefore, a thoughtful and well-guided integration of ChatGPT is essential, with teachers playing a central role in fostering reflective, critical, and deep mathematical thinking in the digital era. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
