This paper maps out the different perspectives on environmental literacy and brings together the latest idea in this field. The main purpose of this research is to find out research trends in the the last 5 years, 2016-2020. This Systematic Review uses published articles originating from the Scopus database that highlight the focus of this research area. The method used in this study is a systematic review (a combined method of systematic literature review and content analysis method with a bibliometric approach using VOSviewer and biblioshiny software). The results of this study indicate that research related to environmental literacy is dominated by developing countries, and in elementary schools there are several indicators that can be developed according to the needs. © 2023 Author(s).
