The purpose of this study was to analyze errors and difficulties in students' numeracy literacy skills in the new normal era. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. A total of 23 grade VIII students at SMP Boording School Al-Madina Cianjur, Indonesia were given a numeracy literacy test for geometry material with 3 questions. Students are invited to solve numeracy literacy problems to find student answers errors based on Newman's theory. Then each student was interviewed to validate the students' errors and difficulties in working on numeracy literacy questions on geometry material. The findings in this study are that students make 4 types of errors in working on numeracy literacy questions based on Newman's theory, namely Comprehension, Transformation, Encoding and Process Skills. Meanwhile, students' difficulties in numeracy literacy skills on geometry material seen at the level of thinking knowing, applying, reasoning are difficulty reading questions, difficulty knowing geometric shapes, difficulty determining geometric formulas and difficulty predicting answers to reasoning questions. By identifying the errors and difficulties of these students, it is hoped that they can plan appropriate learning. © 2023 Author(s).
