Problem solving ability is a learning process as well as problem solving, it is possible for students to gain experience using the knowledge and skills they already have to apply to solving non-routine problems. The problem solving steps contain five completion steps, namely: (1) identifying the problem, (2) formulating the problem, (3) planning the settlement, (4) explaining the reasons, and (5) evaluating the strategy. The problem-solving ability referred to in this study is the ability of students to complete test questions on global warming material. The instrument for solving physics problems is through a description test. The analysis technique is by looking at the distinguishing power with very good, good, not good, bad categories; validity with categories valid without revision, valid revision and invalid; and reliability with very good, good, fair, bad, and bad categories. The increase uses N-Gain with low, medium and high categories. © 2026 Author(s).
