This study explores the impact of using Virtual Reality (VR) in mathematics education at the elementary school level through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The findings indicate that VR enhances student engagement, understanding of abstract concepts, and educational inclusivity. This technology allows students to learn through immersive, hands-on experiences, visualize abstract concepts such as geometry, and boost their intrinsic motivation. Additionally, VR supports culturally responsive pedagogy by creating culturally relevant learning experiences and addressing educational disparities. However, the implementation of VR faces challenges such as high hardware costs, lack of teacher training, and limited infrastructure. The study concludes that VR has significant potential to transform mathematics learning into a more interactive, engaging, and meaningful experience, provided that the existing challenges can be addressed. © 2026 American Institute of Physics Inc..
