The purpose of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of research in the field of geometry in ethnomathematics, in order to better understand the current state of this subfield and identify opportunities for future research. The study used the Scopus database and the SciVal tool to analyse the scholarly output, and found that there were 68 outputs, produced by 160 authors and cited 130 times, with an average of 1.9 citations per publication. The results also showed that Indonesia had the most outputs and views, and the highest field-weighted citation impact and citation count, while South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Brazil also had high outputs and impacts. In terms of collaboration, institutional collaboration was the most common, followed by national collaboration, international collaboration, and single authorship. The top ten authors in terms of scholarly output were Maharaj, Aneshkumar, Sunzuma, Gladys, Prahmana, Rully Charitas Indra, and others. The top ten journals in terms of scholarly output were the Journal of Humanities and Social Science, Journal of Education and Practice, International Journal of Social Sciences and Education, and others. The top ten keywords in terms of frequency were geometry, ethnomathematics, cultural, indigenous, education, and others. Overall, the study found that the field of geometry in ethnomathematics is growing and has had a significant impact, with a high level of collaboration and a wide range of topics and themes © 2026 American Institute of Physics Inc..
