Abstract

This research aimed to develop an experimental tool based on Arduino Uno R3 and DS18B20 sensors to address student misconceptions about heat and temperature. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the tool was designed with one or two DS18B20 sensors connected to Arduino Uno R3 in a parallel configuration. The tool was intended to challenge misconceptions related to boiling temperature and liquid temperature changes. By providing real-time, highly accurate temperature measurements, the tool aimed to induce cognitive conflict and facilitate the transition from erroneous conceptions to scientific understanding. The research successfully resulted in the creation of a real-time temperature measurement prototype, offering a promising approach to improve science education outcomes. Future studies could explore the tool's applicability in different learning environments and age groups. © 2026 Author(s).
