Maths anxiety is a problem that students often face when learning mathematics. Math anxiety hurts students' understanding of mathematics. Mathematics anxiety is defined as a feeling of tension or apprehension that hinders the successful completion of tasks involving number manipulation and mathematical reasoning. This study is a survey of 387 student respondents. Based on the respondents' answers, it was found that when learning mathematics, 20.5% were not anxious, 24.1% were slightly anxious, 32.2% were moderately anxious, and 23.2% were very anxious. During the maths exam, 11.9% were not anxious, 17.7 were slightly anxious, 29.8% were anxious, and 41% were very anxious. Some of the factors that influence math anxiety are not being able / having difficulty understanding mathematical materials, applying formulas, feeling afraid when asked by the teacher to do problems in front of the class, and thinking that mathematics is a complex subject. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc..
