This study aimed to develop ethnopedadogy-based mobile learning media to improve the quality of education in the remote areas. The research method used in this study is the mixed-methods with the steps of research and development (RnD) followed by quantitative and qualitative data for implementing the product. The study was conducted in the remote areas at three high schools in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. This research has developed a prototype of mobile learning media by integrating the Ethnopedagogy approach. The research shows that the prototype the mobile learning can be used in chemistry learning in the remote area. The effectiveness of using mobile learning based on ethnopedagogy approach shows that learning by using full mobile learning provided better results compared with using blended learning and the use of mobile learning as a complement. This shows that the use of mobile learning based on ethnopedagogy approach is suitable for students in remote areas who face difficulties in accessing learning resources, engaging in local culture, lack of teaching staff, low motivation, and low parental support to achieve maximum learning achievement.
