Diah Latifah
This study analyzes the learning experiences of six students from different areas within Indonesia and with different music cultures where none of them had any prior experience of the salendro music scale as their previous music experience was limited to Western-style music. Narrative Inquiry was the research method employed to analyze the meaning of salendro scale music culture. The results show that after the students had learned the salendro scale they succeeded in mastering it by the practice of singing and sight reading salendro music. © 2020 Kasetsart University.
