This study aims to obtain a general description of the analysis of the mathematical understanding of prospective mathematics teachers in the conic concept with Rasch models. This study was pre-experimental with a type of one-shot case study involving students of prospective mathematics teachers in the second semester. This study uses a test instrument in the form of an essay question consisting of three questions designed by a research team that is a lecturer in analytic geometry courses. The results of the analysis of the mathematical understanding of prospective mathematics teachers in analytic geometry lectures with the Rasch model show that only a small proportion of students have high mathematical understanding. The results show that the items used are not reliable and cannot be accepted to measure the mathematical understanding of prospective mathematics teachers in the conic concept. Copyright © 2020 EAI
