The aim of this research was to improve primary students‘ critical thinking skills through Experiential Learning assisted Tools of Science for Kids (EL-TSK) on the magnetic force concept. The quasi-experimental was used as a research method, with matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. The participants included 47 primary students (their age between 10 years old), 25 students as an experimental group and 22 students as a control group. Students‘ critical thinking skill was measured by Critical Thinking Skill Test (CTST). The data analysis used normalized gain, Kolmogorov Smirnov method and the Mann-Whitney U test. The probability value of the Mann-Whitney U test of 0.000 (<0.05) which means that there are significant differences between EL-TSK and traditional learning in terms of critical thinking skills. The value of the improvement of students‘ critical thinking skills for the EL-TSK of the N-gain mean value is the medium category, while the traditional learning is the low category. It can be concluded that the used of Experiential Learning assisted Tools of Science for Kids (EL-TSK) was significantly higher compared to traditional learning for all indicators of critical thinking skills (reasoning, argument analysis, likelihood and uncertainty analysis, and problem-solving and decision-making) on magnetic force concept. © IJSTR 2019.
