Indigenous STEM in science education bridges local wisdom and knowledge in science education and engages students in ways that enhance their critical and creative thinking skills. This study seeks to identify trends in scholarly publications on Indigenous STEM in science education, highlighting publications with the highest citation counts, countries of origin, and mapping patterns using the Scopus database. These findings aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of how Indigenous STEM is being implemented in science education. The research uses a bibliometric analysis approach. From the 106 publications identified in the Scopus database from 2002 to 2023, 30 articles were selected based on their alignment with the keyword criteria. The bibliometric data were processed using VOSviewer version 1.6.17. The results show a significant increase in scientific publications on Indigenous STEM in science education from 2017 to 2022. VOSviewer mapping revealed several themes related to Indigenous STEM, including ethno-STEM, knowledge, culturally responsive higher education, environmental ethics, and environmental education - these emergent themes, which are currently understudied, present opportunities for further exploration and study. © 2025 Author(s).
