Security is still the most important priority in communicating globally on the network; all communication media such as social media today must apply various types of cryptographic algorithms to secure incoming and outgoing information. Hashing Variable Length is one algorithm that can be used to secure messages with the same length of results and also in addition to cryptography; this algorithm can also be used as message compression with very reliable security. Hashing Variable Length has an output with varying lengths and this study provides output results in the form of simulations to illustrate the results of security and compression performed. © 2006-2019 Asian Research Publishing Network (ARPN).
