The study aims to develop responses of educational college students on local wisdom for Sundanese as global educational base. In order to develop the students’ responses on indigenous people namely Sundanese’s character, we have been developing the learning in the social science context for pre-service elementary teachers in the elementary schools located in Bandung, West Java. The research method which is utilized to develop the study was 4-D stands for Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Four social science-experts who have judged the instrument formed a questionnaire were two judges in the assessment sectors and two judges in the social science context and elementary schools’ focus. Subsequently, development of educational college students’ responses have been collected by using a questionnaires developed by the first author. The 31 prospective elementary teachers from Bandung, West Java, Indonesia have been administered to collect the data about Sundanese local wisdom. The data analysis reported that the social science learning in the Sundanese characters’ development is able to improve the students’ local wisdom in the contexts of Silih Asih about 35.5%, Silih Asah about 32.2%, Silih Asuh about 22.6% and Silih Wawangi about 9.7%. To sum up, the development of Sundanese local wisdom for prospective elementary teachers are able to enhance the wise characters of students. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
